Dear new Reception Parents/Carers 2024-25,
We are really looking forward to meeting you at the New Parents Meeting on Thursday 13th June at 5pm and welcoming you to our school.
As a school who prioritises the whole child and mental well-being, we undertsand the importance of, and pride ourselves on, our thorough transition process. Having a thorough transition project can support children to feel safe and secure, providing a link between the certainty of their current setting and their new one. The aim of this process is to ensure that children are emotionally ready for school come Septmber, so that they are ready for learning from Day 1 of school giving them the best possible start to their educational journey. We will therefore be holding the following events for your children to get to know staff and our school environment this term. Further details of the process can be found contained with our Transition Timetable below:
Monday 17th June - New Reception Parents Lunch
Thursday 20th June - Teddy Bears Picnic
Monday 24th June - Storytime and Stay and Play (parents/carers to stay for cofee and cake)
Tuesday 25th June onwards - Home Visits
Friday 5th July - Storytime and Stay and Play (children stay by themselves)
In September, children will be part-time on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of w/b 2nd September, and will be full-time in the week thereafter. From Day 1 of their first full week, we will begin to teach them to read (phonics).
Our ‘School Day’ page on the ‘Our School’ menu; our ‘Uniform’ page on the ‘Statutory Info’ menu; as well as the ‘EYFS Curriculum’ and ‘Phonics and Early Reading’ page on the ‘Curriculum’ menu, may be of particular use to you. In addition, feel free to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to hear about all of the things that our children in school and at home are ‘getting up to’.
We look forward to meeting you all. If you have any queries, please contact us using our email address: [email protected].
