Pupil Premium

At Upton St Leonards C of E Primary School we recognise that children face many barriers to their learning. Our vision of 'a love of life, a love of learning and a love of one another' means we prioritse the well-being and learning of all pupils, ensuring that barriers are effectively and efficiently removed so that all children make good progress.

The DfE expect all schools to publish a strategy for the school’s use of the pupil premium.

For the current academic year, this must include:

  • our school’s pupil premium grant allocation amount
  • a summary of the main barriers to educational achievement faced by eligible pupils at our school
  • how we’ll spend the pupil premium to overcome those barriers and the reasons for that approach
  • how we’ll measure the effect of the pupil premium
  • the date of the next review of the school’s pupil premium strategy

For the previous academic year, you must include:

  • how you spent the pupil premium allocation
  • the effect of the expenditure on eligible and other pupils

Pupil premium funding is allocated for each financial year, but the information we publish online refers to the academic year, as we recognise this is how parents understand the school system.
