Our school is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School. As such it has a Trust Deed which states that the school “shall always be in union with and conducted upon the principles and in furtherance of the ends and designs of the Incorporated National Society for promoting the education of the poor in the principles of the established Church”.
All pupils at our school are important, and our ethos celebrates diversity of experience, interest and achievement. “The core purpose of any Church school is to maximise the learning potential of every pupil within the love of God.” (Valuing All God’s Children, May 2014).
Building foundations for a love of life, a love of learning and a love of one another.
We aim to make our school a place where;
We build a love of life in all its fullness through encouraging children to make positive contributions to the school, local community and world.
Every child can enjoy their childhood, developing practices for healthy minds, bodies, spirits and hope for the future. Children feel safe, secure and know where to accept help if they need it. Children can develop confidence and self-esteem and parents and wider families are encouraged to be involved and to contribute.
We build a love of learning through a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum. Learning environments are engaging and inspirational. Places where everyone can enquire, challenge, make mistakes, and grow in knowledge and confidence in order to thrive. Aspirational standards are encouraged.
We build a love of one another where everyone is valued for their unique individuality and personal strengths. All are treated equally with respect, understanding and dignity regardless of gender, special needs, disability, race, religion or background.
We foster of vision through Christian values. Values are taught and modelled, everyone is encouraged to 'live our values everyday'. Learning environments and curriculum create opportunities to to develop spiritually or to find an individual path to experience the love of God.
and the belief that all people are 'made in the image of God'.
Everyone is different, everyone is valued and everyone is LOVED.
Our School Prayer says;
This is our school.
Let peace dwell here.
Let the rooms be full of contentment.
Let love abide here:
Love of one another;
Love of mankind,
Love of life itself
And love of God.
